Seeded Pizza Base

Ingredients

2 ½ cups spelt or wheat flour (plus extra for work surface)

1 cup warm water (plus extra as needed)

2 tsp (1 sachet) dried active yeast

1 tsp honey

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp Olivado extra virgin olive oil

½ cup rolled oats

⅓ cup FreshLife pumpkin seeds

⅓ cup FreshLife sunflower seeds

Method

Why not make a healthy pizza base using seeds and oats? The texture is fantastic! We use wholemeal spelt flour but you can experiment with your favourite flavours.

In a small jug or bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Add honey and let sit for 5 minutes. Add salt and olive oil and stir to combine.

  1. Add flour, oats and seeds and knead to a large bowl and pour in yeast mix. Knead in the bowl, adding water if necessary (you’ll want the dough a little wet as the oats will swell).
  2. Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and knead for a few minutes. Place dough in a large oiled bowl, cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
