There are a variety of seasonal roles across our growing regions and in our Pack-houses at Union Road in Pukekohe and Rakaia.

Production Roles

From November each year through to end of March we have a requirement for a number of seasonal staff. The skills required for these roles range from machinery operators who are experienced in ground preparation, planting, harvesting and some spraying. Also required are a number of staff who may have less experience driving the larger machinery and technical farming ability but can carry out more general machinery operating roles and general farm work. We begin recruiting for these roles in May and encourage applications from Northern Hemisphere people who would like to incorporate working here as part of a working holiday through their winter months. We have limited backpacker type shared accommodation for which we charge a nominal weekly rental. If you believe you have the skills required for a role in our production teams then please email simon.wilcox@aswilcox.co.nz for further information and a job description. You can expect to work from 40 up to 70 hours per week, depending on the weather.

Pack-House Roles

The majority of seasonal work is available from late January to end of May in our Onion Export Packhouse based at Pukekohe. We begin our recruitment for these roles in November each year. These roles cover grading, quality control, floor working and fork-hoist driving. We have changed the working hours for this season commencing on a 9 shift, increasing to a 12 hour shift 6 days per week through the busy period. Training is provided and these roles usually suit people who want to work for a short period and then continue on their travels.

For local applicants, we advertise the roles in the Franklin County News in late November.

PLEASE NOTE: We are now taking applications for the 2017 season. If you are interested in applying, please complete the application form or phone the Packhouse directly to arrange an interview on 09 237 0762.

Application Process
